Kim Kardashian reportedly paid $100,000 to paint her luxury cars the same color as her house
Kim Kardashian revealed that she has a fleet of minimalist luxury vehicles to match her very austere, neutral-colored home.
In a new video for vogue, the reality TV star gave a tour of his monastic mansion along with his three coordinating vehicles, a Lamborghini, a Rolls Royce and a Maybach, all painted in the exact same shade of “ghost grey” as his home. In the clip, she explains, “I’ve always been a car girl, I love cars and I really wanted something different. I wanted my cars to blend into my gray house. So I did all the cars gray, instead of my typical matte silver, which I used to do. I chose my Lamborghini Urus with a front kit, Rolls Royce Ghost with a crystal lady and my Maybach Sedan. I love everything about it, painting the emblem gray, if I had to choose one [the Maybach] – That’s my baby right there! And, according to TMZ, the paint job to keep everything she owns in the same color scheme cost Kim more than $100,000. Their sources say the custom paint job was done by Platinum Motorsports in Los Angeles and the color is a “very specific Rolls-Royce gray”, which is not usually available in the field.
Each car took about a month to complete as it’s not just a paint job. All three cars had to be disassembled before the color could be applied piece by piece. Kim’s Lamborghini Urus, which has a starting price of $218,009, would have been the most difficult and time-consuming to complete because it has a particularly complex body kit on the front of the car. A Rolls Royce Ghost typically sells for around $311,900, while a Maybach sedan would cost at least $185,950. The source also said the Skims founder was “very involved” in every step of the painting process for her cars and “knew exactly what she wanted.” She’s apparently been a loyal Platinum Motorsports customer for “a while now,” and the company even attracts people who call and ask for “Kim K” after seeing her custom cars driving around town.
